I do not have any working experience, so I just follow my mind about these questions within the organization. According to the Newstrom (2015), power is the ability to influence other people or events and it is delegated by higher management (p. 301). It has three factors, including legitimate power, coercive power, and reward power. Legitimate power comes from a position of authority such as the board. Coercive power that was bestowed on a person through position is based in fear. However, if standards of work or behavior are not unfair, the coercive power will be decline. Reward power comes from managers’ ability that give rewards to employees. If coercive power is a stick, reward power is a candy, both are indispensable (Merchant, 2016, paras. 2, 4, 5).Organizational politics has huge roles in business. Managers cannot be separated between the organization and the employee when they make organizational politics. In other words, the politic will influence employees’ self-interests. In my opinion, self-interests will influence organizational behavior. About conflict, we cannot avoid the conflict in anywhere. Conflict is an interpersonal process that happens from disagreements when people want to finish a goal or an event ((Newstrom, 2015, p. 288). There are many causes of conflict, including personality, personal stress, different opinions, and so on.
